Nari Gandhi - The forgotten Hero

.
“Nari Gandhi”
.
The name itself stimulates a lot of controversies in the minds of all architects and others who know him, for a layman he could be-
A typical parsi filled with his idiosyncrasies.
A man who spoke very little.
– An Unmarried man strutting along with his jhola and kolhapuri chappals.
.
To me the name is a simile of simplicity, personifying an idealistic man, A man whose works spoke more than him.
.
Nari is the modern day father of organic architecture in India. Studied under his master and Guru Frank.lloyd.wright at Talesian for six years. He continued the great work done by his master and took it to another level during his practice in India.
.
Nari’s structures shared his ideals and integrity which can be felt when one visits them. One must visit these structures to understand Nari. Each of his structures stand like an organism camouflaged well with the surrounding landscape, completely self sufficent and very indivijalistic in its approach, the only tought that lingers in our mind when one visits these structures is.....
.
Who was this man........Vishwakarma? in his human avtaaar, who came to earth for a very short period. Who else could create such a marvel?
These structures talk to you. “Yes, they do....” Only if one is ready to listen ....
